Do all of your rooms
contain private facilities i.e. a private bathroom
inside the room?
Yes all of the hotel’s rooms contain
a private bathroom for exclusive use by the occupants
of that room. The bathroom contains either a bathtub
or shower and sometimes both... Complimentary
toiletries including soap, shampoo and shower
cap are provided free of charge. Soft towels and
a Hairdryer complete the facilities on offer in
the bathrooms.
Do all the rooms have
a window with a view?
Yes, all of the hotel’s rooms
contain either a front view of the street or a
view to the rear of the hotel.
Do all the rooms have
a Balcony or Terrace ?
No none of the rooms have a balcony
or terrace.
How do you get here from the main railway
station Termini?
You can either take the Metro Line A
three stops to Piazza Spagna and walk the 150
metres to our hotel. Alternatively see the location
page which contains a detailed street map and
the exact location of the Hotel Pincio.
How do I get to the
city centre of Rome from Fiumicino Airport also
known as Leonardo da Vinci International Airport?
Most clients come to the city centre
of Rome by train so when you arrive at Fiumicino
head for the “FS” sign which also
features the picture of a train. Trains leave
every half hour at 07 and 37 minutes past the
hour. The first train leaves at 06:37 and the
last one at 11:37. You can buy a ticket from the
Tobacconists found inside the station near the
platform. The cost of the ticket is 8.80 Euro.
NB a taxi from Fiumicino Airport to Hotel Pincio
will cost approximately 50 Euro
How do I get to the
city centre of Rome from Ciampino International
Airport?
Ryanair, Flyglobespan and Easyjet all
arrive at Rome Ciampino Airport which is Rome’s
second airport. Ciampino is slightly closer to
Rome than Fiumicino but slightly more difficult
to travel from. Ryanair and Easyjet provide a
courtesy bus which costs approximately 7 euro
one way. Alternatively, take the bus (Cotral)
i.e. a blue bus from directly in front of the
airport. This bus will take you to Anagnina Metro
Stop which is the last stop on Line A. The bus
ticket costs 1 euro and the journey time is about
20 minutes with the first departure at 06:50 and
the last at 11:40 pm, NB you should buy it at
the Tobacconists Inside the Airport as you cannot
buy them on board. Take the Metro and get off
at Piazza Spagna – the Pincio is only a
2 minute walk from the Metro Stop Piazza Spagna.
The journey time in Metro from Anagnina to Repubblica
is 30 minutes. NB a taxi from Ciampino airport
to the hotel will cost approximately 40 Euro.
Is breakfast included
in the Room Rate?
Yes, a continental buffet breakfast is
included in the room rate. And is served on our
roof garden terrace. You may help yourself to
an array of breakfast items including cereals,
fresh milk, yoghurt, pastries and cakes, fresh
bread, rolls, butter, marmelade, jams, fresh fruit
juices, teas, coffees and cappuccino. We even
throw in free complimentary newspapers
How do we get to your
hotel if driving and do you have parking?
From Rome’s ring road the GRA or
Grande Raccordo Anulare (direction Firenze –
Nomentana) take the exit “Nomentana”
direzione centro e keep going straight on. You
will get to some large arched stone gates which
is Porta Pia.. Go past the stone gates and take
the first right into Viale Castro Pretorio. Turn
left at the national library (big brown building
on the right). Turn right at Piazza della Liberta’
and proceed to the end of road where you will
reach Via 20 Settembre. Turn left here and proceed
to the end, turn right at the lights and go straight
down to Via Veneto, turn left a Via Veneto and
proceed to Piazza Barberini. Turn right at Barberini
down Via del Tritone – go right and take
the first right up to the top of the hill. This
is the end of Via Capo Case so park anywhere you
can and proceed to the hotel. NB the hotel can
organise parking in a nearby garage – a
small supplement will be payable for this service.
Does the Hotel have
a Swimming Pool?
No, the hotel itself does not have its’
own swimming pool but is happy to provide directions
on how to get to one. NB the Piscine delle Rose
in EUR is easy to get to and is an Olympic Size
Swimming Pool in a nice location. Alternatively,
why not go to the beach in Anzio, Ostia or Subaudia
which have both recently won Blue Flag awards
for their cleanliness and facilities.
Does the hotel have
a restaurant?
No, the Pincio does not have a Restaurant
but our concierge will be happy to suggest one
of the many trattorias, restaurants or pizzerias
located in Via Flavia and the surrounding streets.
Is there disabled access
and facilities for the handicapped?
No, unfortunately the hotel’s
lift begins on the first floor making it impossible
for wheelchair bound guests to access the hotel.
Doest the hotel provide
internet access?
Yes, there are internet ports in the
rooms for use via your own laptop plus a 24 hour
internet point in the hotel lobby – there
is no charge for this service.
What are the hours of
room service and is breakfast in your room possible?
Room service is from 07:00 until 23:00
and yes breakfast in your room is possible although
a small supplement will apply.
When are you open?
The Hotel Pincio is open all year every
day
What is included in
the Room Rate?
The rates quoted via our online booking
system are per room include everything i.e. total
cost of the room comprehensive of tax, buffet
breakfast, and service.
Is your hotel near the
Parthenon?
No, most definitely not. The Parthenon
is in Athens (Greece) you are probably thinking
of the Pantheon which is about a 15 minute walk
from the Pincio Hotel and definitely well worth
a visit
Why did they build the
Colosseum so close to the Metro Stop?
We don’t know, its’ a bit
silly but who cares as its’ really handy
Where can I see that
“ET” thing with the two fingers almost
touching each other?
Oh, you must mean Michelangelo’s
Ceiling which is found in the Sistine Chapel (no,
we don’t know where the other 15 chapels
are). Michelangelo took 7 years to create the
creation of man so please go and see it...
I’m lost, why
doesn’t Rome have the grid system like modern
cities in the US?
Not got a clue but might have something
to do with 2 and a half thousand years of history
